ATHENS, Ga. -- The Georgia volleyball team defeated Kentucky 3-0 (31-29, 30-24, 30-28) at the UGA Ramsey Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (16-7, 8-5) played from behind for much of the day, trailing in game one 17-9 and then trailing 17-11 in game three before getting the win.
"Every time we play Kentucky it's back-and-forth," said Georgia head coach Mary Buczek. "To win this match in three games is a big accomplishment. We played the whole match from behind. Statistically it was an offensive match. We didn't have many blocks but we had 61 kills."
Alexandra Oquendo finished with 21 kills for the Bulldogs, her highest total in a three-game match this year. Julia Petruschke had 16 kills and Jennie Metz had a game-high 14 digs. Margot Wallace had 52 assists, inching her closer to the 5,000 mark for her career at 4,819.
