ATHENS, Ga.----The Georgia Gym Dogs, led by six seniors, will host six home meets in 2004 including a date with defending national champion UCLA on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The Bruins, who are set to host the 2004 NCAA Championships, will meet Georgia on Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum.
"This is the best schedule we've had in a long time," said Gym Dog head coach Suzanne Yoculan. "We love to be challenged early on and we are fortunate to have the defending national champions for our home opener."
"We have 19 girls and everyone is healthy. This is a good schedule and our team has the depth to handle the competition," Yoculan said.
Georgia also has dual meets scheduled with four other opponents that competed in last seasons NCAA Championships in Lincoln. Each of the dual contests with Auburn, Florida, Alabama and Michigan are road trips for the Gym Dogs.
