The number nine preseason ranking is Georgia's best in the USA TODAY/ESPN poll since USA TODAY began administering the coaches poll in 1991. In 2002, the Bulldogs made their best preseason debut in the AP top 25 since 1982 when they checked in at #8 in the AP poll and were #11 in the Coaches. Georgia finished last season at #3 in all three major polls after going 13-1.
