Georgia DE Will Thompson Has Surgery

ATHENS-------- University of Georgia junior defensive end Will Thompson of Warner Robins dislocated his left ankle during football practice on Tuesday.

Further evaluation Wednesday revealed a fractured fibula in addition to ligament damage. Surgery to stabilize the fracture was performed Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens by team orthopedists. Projected rehabilitation time for such an injury is typically four to six months.
