Georgia will join 26 other teams at the NCAA West Regional at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash. The teams will play 54 holes Thursday through Saturday. Live scoring can be viewed at www.golfstatlive.com. The top 10 teams at the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships May 28-31 in Stillwater, Okla.

The Bulldogs were somewhat caught off guard when they learned they had been placed in the West Regional. Georgia had made eight straight and 13 overall appearances in the East Regional since the regional format was adopted in 1989. Georgia has never been to any other regional.

"Yes, we were a little surprised about being sent to the West, but our guys are excited about the challenge," Georgia coach Chris Haack said.

"It really doesn't matter which regional you play in; you just have to come ready to play. If we are going to advance, we have to play well, regardless of if it's Auburn, Ala. (the site of the East Regional), or Auburn, Wash."
