ATHENS, Ga.-----Georgia's Ashley Godfrey's accomplishments at the plate over the past week have been awarded as Southeastern Conference has named Godfrey the SEC Player of Week. The conference office announced the award on Monday.

"Ashley had a great week at the plate for the team," said Georgia assistant coach Sharon Perkins. "She saw the ball well and really took advantage of opportunities with runners in scoring position. She was just so clutch at the plate this week, getting in the runs."

The Columbus, Ga. native led the Bulldogs at the plate last weekend as she went 10-for-15 with eight runs and seven RBI in two games against No. 15 South Carolina and three games versus Ole Miss. Seven of her 10 hits were for extra bases as she had three doubles, one triple, and three home runs. She also had a stolen base. Godfrey's slugging percentage for the week was 1.600, while she had multiple hits in four of Georgia's five games last week.
