KNOXVILLE, TENN.----Tennessee cruised to a 16-3 win over Georgia Saturday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium to clinch the series. The Volunteers (20-13, 7-7 SEC) plated two runs in the first off sophomore left-hander Mickey Westphal before forcing an early exit when they batted around in the second, building an 8-0 lead over the Bulldogs (16-18, 2-12 SEC). The Volunteers 19-hit attack featured 16 singles, three doubles plus a school-record three sacrifice flies.

In the second, Tennessee used six singles, a double and a sacrifice fly to plate six. With the score 5-0 following a run-scoring single by right fielder Michael Rivera (3-5, 4 RBI), Georgia turned to junior Matt Woods. He was greeted by another run-scoring single, this time by catcher Javi Herrera (3-5, 2 RBI). After a walk to Kyle Norrid, designated hitter Alex Suarez (1-1, 3 RBI) smacked a two-run double to right for an 8-0 edge. Woods would pitch into the eighth before freshman Mitchell Boggs closed it out for the Bulldogs.
