ATHENS, Ga.-----The No. 11 Georgia softball team notched its first ever win against No. 8 LSU 1-0 at the Women's Athletic Complex on Saturday, but lost the second game of the doubleheader 5-4. The Tigers scored five in the top of the seventh to win the second game.

"We played 13 innings of great ball today," said Georgia head coach Lu Harris-Champer. "I'm proud of the team for going out and getting the win in game one."

Michelle Green, who pitched the first game, tallied five strikeouts to bring her season total to 221, passing Natalie Price for the Georgia Single Season Strikeout Record. Price struck out 220 batters for the Bulldogs in 1997 and holds the Georgia career mark with 792.
