Georgia Advances to Finals with Two Wins Over Connecticut

ATHENS, Ga.-----The No. 13 Georgia softball team advanced to the finals of the Georgia Home Tournament with two shutout victories over Connecticut on Saturday at the Women's Athletic Complex. The Bulldogs took the first game 7-0 and the second 11-0 in five innings, and now face the winner of Appalachian State and Winthrop in the championship Sunday at 2 p.m.

Lacey Gardner and Laurie Davidson combined for the one-hitter in the second game while striking out three and allowing only that single base runner. Nicole Barber and Courtney Knight were perfect at the plate for Georgia. Barber went 2-for-2, scoring two runs and stealing three bases, while Knight was 3-for-3 with three runs, an RBI and a double.
