ATHENS----Adam Deloach's run-scoring single in the 10th led Georgia Southern to a 6-4 win over Georgia Saturday at Foley Field.
After the Bulldogs (1-3) had tied the game at 3-all in the bottom of the ninth, the Eagles (6-2) sent nine batters to the plate in the 10th, scoring three runs on four hits and one Bulldog error. Pinch-hitter Grant Burruss started off the frame with a single off sophomore Sean Ruthven. Pinch-runner James Payne stole second while Brandon Long was called out on strikes for the first out. Georgia turned to closer Brandon Moorhead. Brandon Williams followed with a high-chopper off the plate for a base hit as Payne took third. Deloach stepped up with a single up the middle, scoring Payne to make it 4-3. GSU then executed a double steal and Clint Sammons' throw to third to try and get Williams was wide of the bag and went into left field. Williams came home for a 5-3 advantage. After Brandon Burnsed struck out for the second out, Rocky Baker smashed a single up the middle to make it 6-3.
