TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Jarvis Hayes scored 23 points and No. 22 Georgia survived a wild comeback attempt to beat Alabama 74-69 Tuesday night, the Crimson Tide's sixth loss in eight games.

The Bulldogs (15-7, 7-4 Southeastern Conference) watched a 13-point lead trimmed to four over the final 2:21 before nudging the former No. 1 team a step closer to not receiving a possible at-large berth for the NCAA tournament.

The Crimson Tide (14-8, 4-7) hit three 3-pointers in the final rally after missing 13 straight.

Mo Williams, who had 15 of his 22 points in the second half, hit a 3-pointer with 41 seconds left and added a layup 14 seconds later to make it 73-69.
