Athens GA -- Freshman Buzz Wehunt sank a free throw with eight tenths of a second remaining in overtime to lift UGA to a 79-78 victory over the Nike All-Stars Saturday night at Stegeman Coliseum.

The Bulldogs erased an 11 point deficit in the final 12 minutes of regulation to force overtime, and then the defense took over, limiting Team Nike to just one field goal in the extra period. "I was really impressed with our defense," said head coach Dennis Felton. "We defended really well in overtime."

Georgia's three seniors (the fourth, Jonas Hayes was sidelined with and injury) paced the Bulldogs attack. Chris Daniels scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Rashad Wright added 17 points and seven rebounds as well as committing no turnovers, and Damien Wilkins led all scorers with 20 points and pulled down ten rebounds for a double-double.

"The seniors really carried their weight tonight," said Felton. "Rashad is such a dependable point guard, and Damien did what he's been doing, making plays and creating opportunities for his teammates."
