Coach Richt talks about Saturday's game at Georgia Tech:

"It's going to be a great ballgame. Their stadium has been expanded so there will be a lot of excitement for this game. I think our biggest challenge is what they've been doing offensively. They do a lot of things right and their offense has a lot of balance. The thing our coaches think about Georgia Tech more than anything else is that they are very, very well coached on both sides of the ball and on kicking teams. They do a lot of things offensively and defensively to prepare for. "Defensively, all three of their linebackers are outstanding. All three of them really can run and hit and are sure tacklers. Their defensive front is playing strong. They just have a bunch of good defensive linemen. They disguise very well on defense. They do a lot of moving around. They're probably the best at disguising what's going on of team we've faced. It makes it a little bit tougher, but that's what they are trying to accomplish. It's going to be tough. I think they're pretty darn good.

"I think the fact that the game is Georgia-Georgia Tech is enough. It will be a heck of a football game. The majority of players played against each other in high school at some point along the line. We're excited about playing."

On last year's 51-7 win:
"I'm sure its extra incentive (for Georgia Tech). It was just one of those freaky days. We just caught the momentum and didn't let go. But I can't imagine anything like that happening again any time soon."

On Flanker Fred Gibson's broken finger:
"It didn't seem to bother him (at practice) and that's encouraging. He came out and did well. I think he hurt himself on the very first play of the game (against Kentucky). Last year's (broken thumb) was much more serious. His cast is not the same cast he wore last year. It's a soft cast."

On Running backs' blocking:
"It's improved a lot. They're not great at it, but they're not a liability. At one time, I was concerned. At times, I've seen some great blocks, and at times I've seen them revert back. I think they know who to block now. They're getting better. All of them are getting better bit by bit.

"I think the running game is improving. I think our offense is getting better little by little. Usually, one (running back) is above the others, but right now, I like what's going on with our backs. It doesn't necessarily have to be one guy that takes it all."

The following are player quotes from Tuesday's press conference.

DE David Pollack talks about how last year's game was just that, last year, and how the team must focus to get ready for this Saturday.

DE David Pollack on last year's game:

"Georgia fans might remember it, but we've had a long season this year. You have to forget every game, whether it's a win or a loss. Teams are different from year to year. Seniors and some juniors are gone from both sides. We just have to make sure we're focused on now...the present."

OL Russ Tanner on Georgia Tech:

"Every time you play it's a huge game. This game isn't any different. It's a big game. It's for the state championship. Tech's a good team and their defense can shut anybody down. It's a huge game for the fans but it's big for us, too. We know that. Their defense is good. They shut Florida State down. We have to come ready to play. We know how good they really are."

"You have to win the state championship. There is a lot of emotion. (This rivalry) splits families....This a game for bragging rights."
