ATHENS------The Georgia Athletic Association has terminated its litigation with Tulane University over the cancellation of three football games: 2002 in Athens, 2003 in Athens, and 2008 in New Orleans.

The UGAA determined it is in the best interest of all concerned to terminate the litigation since the University of Georgia was able to schedule replacement games and suffered no monetary damages as a result of the cancellation.

"We felt that initiating the litigation was the right thing to do at the time and we feel that now the right thing to do is to terminate the litigation," said Athens attorney Ed Tolley, who represented the Athletic Association in the action.

Tulane University paid the UGAA a sum of $2,500 as part of the litigation settlement.
