The Lady Dogs have won their last five outings by an average of 40.2 points per game, which includes a pair of SEC victories by 42.5 points a clip. Georgia has connected on better than 50 percent of its field goals in each of those outings, UGA's longest streak of hitting more than half its shots since Feb. 15-March 2, 1990.

But the challenge Georgia will face today far exceeds any the Lady Dogs have met in their last five games...or during the entire season for that matter.
"South Carolina is an explosive basketball team with explosive players," Andy Landers said. "Leading the way of course is (Jocelyn) Penn, who is having a specatular season."

"Tradition has been anybody that loses two games is in jeopardy of being out of the championship hunt," Landers said before the league opener at Florida. "If you're playing for the championship, there's not a whole lot of margin for error."

Championship talk might be the last thing you would expect from a coach whose team finished its pre-conference slate at 9-4, especially considering the SEC currently has six teams ranked in both the AP and ESPN/USA Today polls. But Landers will not shy away from his aspirations.
