Bulldogs in ninth place at Carpet Capital Collegiate

ROCKY FACE, Ga. -- The 15th-ranked Georgia men's golf team stands in ninth place after the first round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate at The Farm on Friday.

The Bulldogs fired a team total of 6-over 294 after play was suspended in the morning due to rain, forcing a shotgun start. Florida holds the team lead at 10-under 278. The Bulldogs are tied for ninth with Arizona, Augusta State and Oklahoma.

Sophomore David Denham paced Georgia's effort with a 1-under 71 and he is tied for 13th place, five shots behind Wake Forest's Bill Haas (6-under 66). Denham is making his Georgia debut this weekend after transferring from Georgia State.

Freshman Kevin Kisner followed Denham with an even-par 72, while sophomore Donny Wysoczynski carded a 2-over 74. Juniors Ryan Hybl and Matt McQuillan each came in at 5-over 77.
