Against Virginia Tech the Bulldogs fell behind 0-1 to the home-standing Hokies, but battled back for the 3-1 victory. "I liked the way we progressed all weekend," said head coach Mary Buczek. "Against Virginia Tech we were able to keep our focus for the entire match, and it says a lot that we were able to come back after being down 0-1." Freshman outside hitter Julia Petruschke was named the tournament's MVP and sophomore setter Margot Wallace earned All-Tournament team honors.
