Wichita, Kan.----The Georgia volleyball team dropped its second game of the day on Friday night in the Green Mill Restaurant Volleyball Classic, 3-1 (30-18, 30-28, 24-30, 30-26), to Miami of Florida.
Earlier in the day the Bulldogs (0-2) lost to host Wichita State in a five-game thriller.
"These are all good teams," said head coach Mary Buczek. "We played with a lot of errors, but that's why we play these tournaments. We are finding out what we've got to do to get better as a young team."
Freshman Julie Petruschke, who led the Dogs with 24 kills in the loss to Wichita State, again had a big game with 25 kills in 47 attempts against the Hurricanes (2-0).
On the day, four true freshmen saw time on the court for Georgia. Petruschke, Meagan Welch, Angela Hale and Liz Pace all played in games one and two.
Georgia will be back in action Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. EDT against Stephen F. Austin and end the tournament with a 6 p.m. game against New Mexico.
