Georgia Volleyball Team Continues Pre-Season Work

Athens, Ga.----The Georgia volleyball team continued its pre-season practice schedule on Saturday with a team scrimmage at the Ramsey Center.
The Black team defeated the Red team 3-1, but most importantly, head coach Mary Buczek said, was that the Bulldogs were able to play in a live game situation before next weekend's season-opener.
"You can't ask for much more than to have a six-on-six scrimmage this competitive. It put our whole team in a game situation and that is important before we play in Wichita," Buczek said.
Buczek added that team captains Luresa Forsythe and Jennifer Foytich played consistently all match.
"Our two captains looked the most comfortable out there," Buczek said. "I really saw their experience on the court. I am also very excited about the way all of our newcomers played."
The Bulldogs open the 2002 season next Friday with matches against Wichita State and Miami (Fla.) in Wichita, Kan. Georgia's first home action of the season is slated for Friday, September 6 at 7 p.m. against Georgia Southern at the UGA Ramsey Center.
