The qualified UGA track and field athletes will head to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Baton Rouge, La., May 29-June 1. A total of 776 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualified by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.
Georgia will send a total of 16 athletes to Baton Rouge, ten women and six men. For the Lady Bulldogs, qualifiers include the 400 and 1,600 meter relay teams, Marie Woodward in the 400 meter dash, Krysha Bayley and Tasha Mahone in the long jump, and Lindsay Daniel in the javelin. The four members of the 400 meter relay team will be chosen from Sherita King, Illia Miles, Bayley, Sonja Collins and Mahone. The four members of the 1,600 meter relay team will be chosen from Aisha Tull, Traci Boyd, Samantha Murillo, Woodward and Collins.
