ATHENS-----Junior Justin McClain's two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the eight rallied Georgia past Kentucky 5-4 Friday before a Foley Field crowd of 2,512.

The Bulldogs (21-14, 9-7 SEC), winners of three straight, trailed 4-2 heading into the bottom of the eight against Kentucky ace Joseph Blanton. Chaz Lytle sparked the rally with a leadoff single, his third hit on the night. Blanton got David Coffey to fly out before Lee Mitchell drew a walk on a 3-2 pitch. Senior Matt Cavender followed with a bloop single to shallow center to load the bases. Blanton went 2-0 on Adam Swann before being lifted in favor of left-hander Cory Hahn. Swann drew a walk, scoring Lytle to make it 4-3. Hahn struck out Jon Armitage for the second out and then McClain stepped up and drilled a 1-1 offering to left field to give the Bulldogs a 5-4 lead. For McClain (2-4, 2 RBI), it was the third time this year, he has delivered the eventual game-winning hit. The Wildcats fall to 14-23 overall, 3-13 in the SEC.
