ATHENS, Ga. - Nine riders will compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Regionals Competition on March 30-31 in Rome, Ga.

The riders include: Emily Adgate, Katie Vijande, Ashley Greve, Kristin Mercer, Erin Menigo, Jolee Vaughn, Amanda Ziegler, Sherry Wilson and Kimberly Huggett. In order for these riders to qualify they must have accumulated 28 of the 35 points in a specific class.

"I think we have good representation in the show and will have a strong showing at Regionals with the nine riders," said Coach Boenig.

The novice flat and novice fences classes may prove to be the most difficult classes of competition since as many as eight competitors have meet the requirements. Ashley Greve and Kristin Mercer will both be competing in novice fences and Greve will also compete in novice flat.

In the hunt seat discipline, Emily Adgate will be competing in the walk/trot class and Erin Menigo and Jolee Vaughn will be riding in intermediate flat.

Riding stock seat will be Amanda Zeigler in intermediate, Sherry Wilson in advanced and Kimberly Huggett in both open western and open reining.

The top three riders in each class will advance to the Zone Championships to be held April 6-7 in Lexington, Ky.

Hunt seat competition will begin at 9 a.m., followed by stock seat at 2 p.m. at the Gumby Equine Center in Rome, Ga.
