ATHENS---University of Georgia junior Michael Johnson and redshirt sophomore Sean Jones have been named Southeastern Conference Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Johnson, a 6-3, 213-pound receiver from Tulsa, Okla., earned the SEC Offensive Player of the Week honor after a career day in Georgia's 24-21 win at 24th-ranked Auburn. Johnson recorded a career-high 13 receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown. The 19-yard touchdown catch ranks as one of the biggest in school history as it clinched the SEC's Eastern Division title outright, the first for the Bulldogs since the league split into divisions in 1992. The touchdown reception came on a fourth and 15 play with 1:25 remaining and Georgia trailing 21-17.

Coming into the game, Johnson's season totals were 11 catches for 130 yards and one touchdown. For the Auburn game, the Bulldogs were without two of their top wideouts in senior Terrence Edwards and junior Damien Gary who are both injured.
