ATHENS, Ga. LaToya Thomas converted two free throws with less than a second remaining to lift the Mississippi State women's basketball team to a 72-71 win over No. 19 Georgia on Thursday at Stegeman Coliseum.

Trailing 71-70, Mississippi State got possession of the ball with seven-tenths of a second remaining on a jump ball. After a timeout, the visiting Lady Bulldogs ran an inbounds play for Thomas, who was fouled with two-tenths left. She then drilled both free throws to lift Mississippi State to its second win of the year over Georgia.

Georgia seemed to have the game well in hand with 3:21 remaining as Mary Beth Lycett's layup gave the Lady Bulldogs a 70-59 lead, their largest of the second half. Sparked by Tan White (five points), Mississippi State charged back with a 13-1 run to end the game and take the victory.
