ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 8-ranked Georgia women's basketball team opened Thursday's game with LSU with a 14-0 run and led by double digits from then on en route to a 72-56 victory at Stegeman Coliseum.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 11-0 on the season, including a 1-0 mark in the Southeastern Conference. The Lady Tigers fell to 7-5 overall and 0-1 in the SEC.

Forward Kara Braxton and guard Mary Beth Lycett each had six points for the Lady Bulldogs in their 14-0 run. Braxton converted her three field goals from the paint, while Lycett drilled a pair of 3-pointers.

The Lady Bulldogs eventually pushed their lead to 47-24 at halftime. LSU endured a cold shooting half, hitting only 6-of-36 from the floor, but it stayed at least somewhat in contention by converting all 11 of its free throws.
