ATHENS, Ga. - Even though the Georgia men's golf team didn't reach its ultimate goal of winning the national championship, the Bulldogs still pulled in some impressive postseason honors.

The five Bulldogs in the playing lineup were named to the First-, Second- and Third-Team All-America squads by Ping and the Golf Coaches Association of America on Monday.

Georgia became the first school in history to have five All-Americans without at least one coming from the Honorable Mention list.

"When you think about all the great teams throughout the years in college golf, you realize how impressive that accomplishment is," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "Having five All-Americans is a testament to the hard work put in by our players and the skills they have. As I've said before, this is a special group."

Nick Cassini, the lone senior in the Bulldogs' lineup at the NCAAs, was named First-Team All-America. The SEC Golfer of the Year, Cassini placed third in the final national individual poll and had the third-best career average (72.11) and the second-best season average (71.05) in school history.
