Berkeley, Calif. --- For the third consecutive game, Georgia's Lady Bulldogs rallied from a significant first-half deficit en route to victory. On Sunday, Georgia defeated California 54-48 to capture the championship of the Golden Bears' Oakland Tribune Classic.

Georgia moves to 5-0 on the campaign while Cal fell to 4-1.

The win was Andy Landers' 550th in his 23 seasons at Georgia, and it was the Lady Bulldogs' most veteran player who helped secure that victory.

Tournament MVP Tawana McDonald scored a season-high 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor, and she hauled down a season-best 13 rebounds as well. With six blocked shots, McDonald also passed Tracy Henderson to move into the second spot among Georgia's career leaders in blocked shots. The senior from Flint, Mich., now has 268 blocks, just 22 shy of Katrina McClain's Georgia record.
