Hybl places ninth in Hilton Head tourney

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Georgia sophomore Ryan Hybl shot a 1-over-par 72 in the final round of the Long Cove Invitational on Sunday and finished in ninth place.
Hybl's three-round total of 1-over 214 was eight shots behind Southern Cal's David Oh (206). Hybl finished third, fifth and ninth individually in the Bulldogs' final three tournaments of the fall.
As a team, the ninth-ranked Bulldogs wound up in 10th place at 34-over 886 following their 15-over 299 on Sunday. Georgia Tech won the event at 3-over 855, including Sunday's 4-under 280.
Georgia senior David Miller fired a 2-over 73 on Sunday to close the tournament at 9-over 222. Freshman Christo Greyling followed at 11-over 224, including a final-round 7-over 78. Senior Bryant Odom carded a 5-over 76 on Sunday for a three-day total of 15-over 228, while freshman Donny Wysoczynski closed with an 8-over 79 for an 18-over 231 total.
The Bulldogs will return to action Feb. 24-26, 2002, as they open the spring portion of their schedule in the Puerto Rico Shootout. Miller and Odom will play Nov. 19-20 in the Savane All-American Classic in El Paso, Texas, an individual tournament made up of All-Americans from last season.
