Tanner Stines serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Capital Planning and Auxiliary Administration at the University of Georgia. He leads the Athletic Association’s capital planning and construction efforts while providing executive oversight for athletic facilities, building services, maintenance, and grounds. He also oversees auxiliary revenue initiatives, including concerts, outside rentals, alternative sporting events, and live entertainment, creating new opportunities to maximize the value and year-round use of Georgia’s athletic venues. In addition, Stines coordinates football travel logistics for both Campus and Athletic Administration and serves as the sport administrator for Baseball, Cross Country, and Track & Field.
Prior to his current role, Stines served as Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating and Financial Officer at McNeese State University Athletics. There, he provided executive leadership for business affairs, team travel and scheduling, human resources, marketing, and game operations while overseeing the department’s capital improvement program. Stines played an integral role in the university’s recovery efforts following Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020. He also served as the sport administrator for Football and Basketball, supervised Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning, and partnered with the McNeese Athletic Foundation on operations, memberships, sponsorships, and donor fulfillment.
Before returning to Georgia, Stines served in Internal Operations for the University of Georgia Athletic Association, contributing to the planning and execution of numerous capital improvement projects across Georgia Athletics. He previously held the role of Coordinator of Graphics and Displays, where he managed museum exhibits and historical archives throughout athletic facilities while overseeing graphics maintenance, repairs, and facility inspections.
Stines began his career in collegiate athletics as an undergraduate equipment manager for the Georgia Football program before serving as a football operations intern. He spent five seasons with the Bulldogs from 2006–2010 under Head Coach Mark Richt, gaining firsthand experience in the daily operations of one of the nation’s premier football programs.
A two-time graduate of the University of Georgia, Stines earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing in 2010 and a master’s degree in Sport Management in 2014.
Tanner and his wife, Megan, a fellow University of Georgia graduate and former student athletic trainer for the Bulldogs, reside in Athens. Megan is a physical therapist with Piedmont Outpatient Rehabilitation. They have one daughter, Margaret.
