Carter was hired as a Assistant Director of Sports Communications in the summer of 2026 after serving in the UGA Sports Communications office for two years as a Graduate Assistant. In the Assistant Director role, Carter acts as the primary contact for the Georgia softball program, as well as the tertiary contact for the Georgia football team. As the primary contact for Georgia softball, he leads creative strategy for the team on social media, coordinates media availabilties, manages statisics and records, and functions as the liaison between the program, television networks and the conference. As the tertiary contact for football, Carter assists with gameday communications operations, handles player interview requests and aids in Georgia football notes, media guides and gameday television materials.

As a Graduate Assistant in the Sports Communications office, he served as the SID for the Georgia men's tennis program. In this role, Carter served as the media coordinator for the Southern Intercollegiate Championship and the ITA Southeast Regional. More, he led creative strategy for the program, handled interview requests and managed statistics and records. While serving as a Graduate Assistant, Carter earned his Masters of Science in Sport Management and Policy from the University of Georgia.

Carter earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Sport Management from the University of Georgia in May of 2024. He also served as student assistant in the UGA Sports Communications office as an undergraduate student. He is originally from Augusta, Georgia.
