Dr. Megan Lawson joined UGA Athletics Academic Services as a Learning Specialist in 2024.
She moved to Athens in 2019 to begin work on the Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education which she completed at UGA in 2023. That followed four years as a language-arts classroom teacher at Alcott Middle School in Norman, Oklahoma.
She completed a Master of Arts degree in English Education at the University of Oklahoma in 2015 after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism at OU in 2012. She also worked as Note-Taking Coordinator and a Writing Center Tutor in the Athletics Department at OU.
In addition, Lawson worked as an Editing Intern for the AARP Bulletin in Washington, D.C.
A native of Oklahoma, she lives in Winterville with her husband Jim, a homebuilder, and three doodles.
