Kelsey Thomas was named Assistant Director of Compliance for the UGA Athletic Association in July 2017. In this role, she assisted in evaluating prospective student-athletes’ initial eligibility and monitored student-athletes’ awards and benefits. Additionally, she served as the primary compliance contact for men’s and women’s golf, soccer, volleyball and equestrian.

Thomas left Georgia in 2022 to become the Director of Compliance at Kansas State University. There, she oversaw the certification of all student-athletes for practice and competition. In June 2023, Thomas made her return to UGA and Athens as the Director of Compliance. She currently serves as the primary compliance contact for men’s and women’s golf, gymnastics and volleyball. Thomas began working with UGA Athletics as a graduate assistant in the compliance office from 2016-17 before being added to the staff full-time.

Thomas is originally from Paris, Kentucky. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Media from Oklahoma State University in 2015 and received her master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Georgia in 2017.
