Jen Galas was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Social Media and Digital Strategy in August of 2022. Prior to this role, Galas served as Director of Social Media Strategy and Digital since 2019. In her role, Galas is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of digital, creative and social media strategies for the University of Georgia Athletic Association handles. She is also the lead voice on departmental social media channels. In addition to her roles in social media strategy, Galas also works to create unique digital identities for many of Georgia's athletic teams.

In her previous role, Galas also worked closely with Georgia Bulldogs Sports Marketing to plan, coordinate and fulfill revenue generating corporate sponsor social media activations.
 
Galas served as the Associate Director of Digital Services. In that position, Galas was responsible for social media activation, planning and assisted in strategic communication efforts for the University of Georgia Athletic Association. Galas came to the University of Georgia in 2011 as a graduate assistant in the sports communications office and was promoted to Assistant Sports Communications Director in January 2013. During her time at Georgia, Galas served as the media coordinator for the 2012 NCAA Softball Regional, the 2012 Southern Equestrian Championship, the 2014 NCAA Softball Regional and Super Regional and the 2015 NCAA Softball Regional. She has also overseen publicity efforts for the 2014 SEC Softball Tournament Champions, the 2014 NCEA Equestrian National Champions and the 2015 SEC Equestrian Champions.
 
Galas has been recognized for her publication work in 2013 and 2014 by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Her 2013 equestrian media guide was awarded Best Cover, while her softball and equestrian media guides were also named second in the nation in their respective categories. In 2014, her volleyball media guide was named third in the nation, while her equestrian guide was named second in the nation for the second-straight season. In addition to her work with Georgia, Galas has provided publication assistance for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association and served as a publications judge for CoSIDA.
 
Prior to her time at Georgia, the former Jen Blackwell worked as the Assistant Media Relations Director for Elon University, where she served as the primary contact for Elon's women's basketball, volleyball, softball, track and field and cross country teams. She also was instrumental in the design and publication of Elon's first-ever digital viewbook, as well as the initial social media strategy for Elon Athletics.
 
Galas served as the Assistant Media Relations Director at the College of Charleston from 2007-2008, where she served as the primary sports information contact for the Cougars' 2007 Southern Conference champion volleyball team. She was also the media relations contact for CofC's cross country and swimming and diving teams and was the secondary contact for the men's basketball team.
 
As a Media Relations Student Assistant at South Carolina, Galas worked as the primary contact for the Gamecocks' 2007 national champion equestrian squad.
 
A native of Greenville, S.C., Galas received her bachelor's degree in public relations from the University of South Carolina in 2007, before earning her master's degree in communications from Georgia in December 2012. Galas is married to Lijah Galas and resides in Athens, Ga.
