James Ellis has worked in a variety of spots for the Bulldog football team, most recently serving as the Director of Scouting since 2025.

Ellis' previous positions at UGA include Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2024, Player Personnel Coordinator from 2022 to 2024 and Player Personnel assistant during the 2019-2021 years.  He also served as a student assistant helping to coach inside linebackers while he was an undergraduate at Georgia.

Before joining the football support staff at Georgia, Ellis played football for the University of Dayton in 2017 before transferring to UGA in 2018.  He received his Risk Management/Business degree and graduated in Athens following the fall of 2021.

Ellis calls Roswell, Ga., his hometown.
