Jake Stanley joined the Georgia Sports Communications staff in August 2019 as an assistant director, serving in the role for nearly six years before being promoted to associate director in April 2025. He currently serves as the primary contact for the Bulldogs' soccer and swimming and diving teams, as well as the tertiary contact for football where he oversees publications, game statistics, and serves as visiting team media coordinator.
During his tenure at Georgia, Stanley has directed media relations efforts for three NCAA champion swimmers and the Bulldog soccer program's first SEC Tournament title in 2023. He has also coordinated Georgia's communications efforts during the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, as well as served as media coordinator for two SEC Swimming & Diving Championships (2021, 2025), the 2024 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, and the 2025 SEC Softball Tournament. In 2023, his Georgia Soccer media guide for the 2022 season was named fourth in the nation by College Sports Communicators, ranking as the top soccer media guide nationally. He also assisted the program in garnering three consecutive United Soccer Coaches All-America player honors (2021-23) for the first time ever.
Prior to joining Georgia, Stanley spent two years as an Adidas Intern in the sports information department at the University of Louisville. During his tenure, he oversaw media relations for the Cardinals’ cross country and rowing teams, while serving as a secondary contact for women’s basketball and communications assistant for multiple other teams. With UofL, he served as co-media coordinator for the 2017 ACC and NCAA Cross Country Championships and assisted with media relations efforts for the 2018 NCAA Women's Final Four, 2019 NCAA Men's Basketball South Regional, 2019 NCAA Women's Basketball First/Second Round, and the 2019 NCAA Baseball Regional and Super Regional.
Before joining Louisville, Stanley worked for four years as a student assistant in the athletic communications department at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. While with the RedHawks, he was the primary contact for women’s tennis, and later softball, while assisting with football, men’s and women’s basketball, and hockey. At Miami, he served as media coordinator for the 2015 and 2016 MAC Women's Tennis Championships and assisted with three NCAA Men's Hockey Regionals (2014, 2016, 2017).
Additionally, Stanley served as a media relations assistant for the Louisville Bats, Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, for the 2018 season, as well as a sports department intern for the Butler County Visitors Bureau in West Chester, Ohio during the summer of 2016.
A Cincinnati, Ohio native, Stanley earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Bachelor of Science in Sport Leadership and Management from Miami in May 2017. He then earned a Master of Science in Sport Administration from Louisville in May 2019. He resides in Athens with his dog, Minnie.
