Glada Gunnells Horvat has worked in the Georgia Athletic Association since 1979 and currently serves as Senior Associate Athletic Director. She was Associate Athletic Director for Student Services and Senior Woman Administrator from 1996 until 2004. She has served in various positions in compliance and academic counseling since 1983. Her duties include monitoring institutional compliance with NCAA and SEC eligibility regulations for student-athletes in all sports. She was a member of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Committee from 2005 to 2009 and served as chair in 2008-09.

A native of Hartwell, GA, Horvat served four years as a student assistant in the Bulldog Sports Information Office while attending The University of Georgia from 1979-83. She graduated summa cum laude and with general honors in Journalism in 1982 and completed a master's degree in Public Administration in 1983.

She was the 1996 Athletic Association Employee of the Year. She is married to Michael Horvat, professor emeritus in UGA's Department of Kinesiology and they have three children, Ian, Kala and Michael.
