Guillermina “Gigi” Grant joined the University of Georgia Athletic Association Compliance Office in August 2025 as a graduate assistant and was hired May 2026 as the Compliance Assistant. She primarily assists in eligibility and international student issues. Originally from Montevideo, Uruguay, Gigi came to Athens in the fall of 2021 to continue her academic and athletic career as a member of the University of Georgia women’s tennis team.
During her four years at UGA, Gigi was part of a successful tennis program that captured multiple SEC Championships, the 2025 ITA National Indoor Championship, and the 2025 NCAA National Championship. She concluded her collegiate career with more than 100 singles victories and was honored with the ITA Southeast Regional Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award.
Away from competition, Gigi earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from UGA’s Terry College of Business and a master’s degree in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate studies, she completed internships in finance and accounting with Uruguay-based firms "Estudio Fischer" and "Donnangelo & Asociados."
Gigi is passionate about giving back to the community and volunteers with organizations including Barrow Elementary School and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens. Her experiences as a student-athlete, graduate assistant, and in compliance have strengthened her commitment to supporting student-athletes and contributing to the mission of the University of Georgia Athletic Association.
