Gage Whitten joined the Georgia Athletic Association in 2018 and currently serves as the Director of Football Equipment and Apparel. Whitten handles equipment safety, equipment aesthetics and mentoring student managers.
Prior to joining the Georgia Athletic Association, Whitten worked as the Director of Football Equipment at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He worked at the University of Connecticut as an Assistant Football Equipment Manager (2015-2017), at the University of Alabama as a Student Equipment Manager (2012-2014), and Pearl River Community College
as a Student Equipment Manager (2009-2012).
A native of Poplarville, Mississippi, Whitten received an Associate of Arts in Business Administration from Pearl River Community College in 2012. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 2014. In 2023, he obtained a Master of Science in Sports Management from Georgia Southern University.
Whitten has an Athletic Equipment Managers Association Certification, which recognizes specialized knowledge, skills, and experience in athletic equipment management. He was also named to the Inaugural University of Georgia Athletic Association Leadership Academy (2022-2023).
Whitten and Suzanne Avant Whitten were married February 25, 2023.
