Derek Hammock joined the Georgia Athletic Association in 2018 and currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Finance & Strategic Planning. Hammock served as the Director of Business Operations from 2018-2022.

Prior to joining the Georgia Athletic Association Hammock worked as an Audit Senior for •Ernst & Young, LLP (EY) in Atlanta, Georgia from 2016-2018. He has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 2017.

A native of Vidalia, Georgia, Hammock received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) from the University of Georgia in 2015 and 2016. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, was named an Alumni Board Student of the Year Finalist, was a Deer Run Fellow, Leonard Leadership Scholar and Blue Key National Honor Society Member.

Hammock is a current member of the UGA Terry College of Business Young Alumni Board, a mentor in the Clarke County Mentor Program and a member of the Sports Management Institute Class of 2024.

He lives with his wife Sierra Hammock and their bernadoodle, Jekyll.
