Christopher Lakos oversees the publicity for the nationally-ranked baseball team plus assists with the sports communications for the highly successful football and women's tennis programs. He serves as the managing editor for the award-winning football game day program and yearbook along with producing the annual baseball media guide.

A native of Sanford, N.C., he earned a journalism degree from UGA in 1990. He completed 30 hours of post-graduate work in public relations during a two-year stint at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette before returning to UGA in December of 1992. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Athletic Director in the Sports Communications office.

Lakos has accompanied the Bulldogs to 33 bowl games including the College Football Playoffs in 2017, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025. Georgia has advanced to the National Championship Game three times and captured back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022.

He has made five trips with Georgia to the College World Series (2001, 2004, 2006, 2008 Finals and 2026) and been a part of the host SID staff for 20 NCAA Championships in five sports. In 2024 and 2026, he had a front row seat to All-American Charlie Condon and Daniel Jackson's record-breaking college baseball seasons as they swept every major honor including winning the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy. Lakos owns a bit of radio experience as he volunteered as a color analyst on Bulldog baseball road games for The REF-960 AM from 2000-2008.

His professional experience includes managing a 68-member baseball staff during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta. He served as the Venue Press Chief for Baseball at Fulton County Stadium, which featured 32 games in 12 days. Also, his Olympic staff assisted in the opening and closing ceremonies.
 
Lakos is a member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA. He spent more than a decade on the CoSIDA Convention Program Committee. In 2013, he received the Bud Nangle Ethics Award during the annual CoSIDA Convention. Also, he is on the Peach of an Athlete Selection Committee that is part of the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Lakos, and his wife, Leslie, have two rescue dogs, Raven and Dex.
