Christopher Lakos oversees the publicity for the nationally-ranked baseball and women's tennis teams plus assists with the sports communications for the highly successful football program. He serves as the managing editor for the award-winning football game day program and yearbook along with producing the annual baseball and women's tennis media guides.

A native of Sanford, N.C., he earned a journalism degree from UGA in 1990. He completed 30 hours of post-graduate work in public relations during a two-year stint at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette before returning to UGA in December of 1992. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Athletic Director in the Sports Communications office.

Lakos has accompanied the Bulldogs to 30 bowl games including the College Football Playoffs in 2017, 2021 and 2022. Georgia advanced to the National Championship Game all three times and captured back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022. He has made four trips with Georgia to the College World Series (2001, 2004, 2006, 2008 Finals) and been a part of the host SID staff for 16 NCAA Championships in five sports. He volunteered as a color analyst on Bulldog baseball road games for The REF-960 AM from 2000-2008.

His professional experience includes managing a 68-member baseball staff during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta. He served as the Venue Press Chief for Baseball at Fulton County Stadium, which featured 32 games in 12 days. Also, his Olympic staff assisted in the opening and closing ceremonies.
 
Lakos is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He spent more than a decade on the CoSIDA Convention Program Committee. Also, he is on the Peach of an Athlete Selection Committee that is part of the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Lakos is married to the former Leslie Andrews of Athens, Ga. They have two rescue dogs, Sweet Pea (terrier chihuahua) and Kaiser (german shepherd).
