Charlotte Warren, MSW, LCSW, CAADC joined the Georgia Athletic Association in 2017 as a mental health and performance clinician. In 2024 she was named the Assistant Director of Mental Health and Performance- Clinical Director.Â
A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Charlotte attended The University of North Carolina at Wilmington as a swimming and diving student-athlete. There she earned her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. After this, Charlotte shifted focus to student-athlete mental health and attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received her degree of Masters in Social Work.Â
She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and certified advanced alcohol & drug counselor (CAADC). She has been intensively trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for over 15 years.Â
Beginning in her graduate education, she has published articles under her maiden name of Charlotte Dean specifically exploring how social workers add value to the athletic population, how athletes can transfer skills to the field of social work, and how social workers can help athletes to transition out of sports. She has presented on various topics related to social work in sport, program development, and clinical interventions with athletes on local, conference, and national levels.
She is an active member of national organizations including a founding member and former vice president of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sport, and a member of the Clinical Counseling and Sports Psychology Association.Â
Charlotte and her husband Mark Warren, a U.S. Navy veteran, have energetic twin boys and two dogs. Â
