Ben Brandenburg was named Associate Director of External Operations in 2017. In his new capacity, he is responsible for the planning and implementation of external related operations and execution of multimedia platforms with an emphasis on facilitating external contracts, driving revenue and enhancing the overall brand and awareness of the University of Georgia Athletic Association.
A native of Augusta, Ga., Brandenburg began working for the UGA Athletic Association as a sports communications intern in 2007. He later served as an office assistant for the director of football operations during the 2009 season and was a defensive student assistant coach for UGA Football from January 2010 - April 2011. He was then hired as the recruiting graduate assistant before being promoted to the full-time assistant position in June 2011. After serving as the staff’s Recruiting Assistant for three years, he was promoted to Recruiting Operations Coordinator in July 2014.
Brandenburg received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication (Public Relations) from UGA's Grady College in 2009 and also minored in history. He then completed his M.Ed. (Master of Education) from Georgia in 2012.
A 2005 graduate of Lakeside High School in Evans, Ga, Brandenburg is married to the former Mobley Moss of Augusta, Ga. She teaches first grade at Rocky Branch Elementary School in Watkinsville, Ga. Ben and Mobley welcomed their first child, Abby, in May 2017.Â
