Eric Schmidt

Eric Schmidt joined the University of Georgia soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2021. Schmidt came to Georgia after serving as an assistant coach at Montana during the spring 2021 season.
During his time in Missoula, Schmidt helped lead the Grizzlies to Big Sky regular season and tournament championships, earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Aside from his coaching responsibilities, he oversaw opponent analysis, directed individual and team video analysis and periodization, managed the team’s heart rate monitor system, and participated in recruiting efforts.
Prior to Montana, Schmidt worked for FC Boulder from 2010-21 in a variety of roles, serving as the girls’ director of coaching, age group coordinator for the U11-U14 girl age groups, and the head coach of the U11-U18 girl age groups. He was a coach for the Colorado Olympic Development Program (ODP) from 2017-21, as well as a staff coach for U.S. Youth Soccer ODP Region 4 in 2020 and is currently a staff coach for Region 2. He was also the varsity girls' head coach for Monarch High School from 2013-17. Currently, he holds a USSF B License.
Before transitioning into coaching full-time, Schmidt was a senior tax associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Denver.
Schmidt is a graduate of the University of Colorado, graduating in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Accounting, with a certificate in Entrepreneurship. During his undergraduate career, he won a national championship in 2005 on the Colorado men’s club soccer team.
