Mollie Korth, a former stand-out gymnast at Kentucky, joined the Georgia gymnastics staff as a volunteer assistant coach in September 2022 and was promoted to assistant coach following the 2023 season.
As a volunteer assistant, Korth worked with the GymDog beam and floor squads. The Georgia gymnastics program Improved 10 spots on bars and 10 spots overall in the rankings at the end of the 2023 season from the prior year and the team’s 2023 NQS score was the highest in the last four seasons. Five GymDogs received All-SEC honors, which is the most since 2016 and the highest number in one season since 2003. Georgia was also awarded its first WCGA All-American since 2020.
Korth, a native of Cambridge, Wisconsin, spent one year as a volunteer assistant at Pitt after graduating from Kentucky in 2020.
During her senior season, Korth became the third Wildcat in program history designated All-SEC in four consecutive seasons. She also collected three Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association Regular Season All-America distinctions and a selection as one of six finalists for the AAI Award, presented annually to the most outstanding collegiate senior female gymnast in the country. Korth was dubbed the season’s first SEC Gymnast of the Week on Jan. 7 and SEC Specialist of the Week on Feb. 25.
She finished her final collegiate campaign with an NQS of 9.925 on vault in a tie for fourth place in the nation and first in the conference. Korth’s 9.900 NQS on bars tied for 16th overall and placed sixth in the league, and her all-around NQS of 39.520 ranked ninth overall and third in the conference.
She earned five individual victories on vault for a career total of 23, six wins on bars for a total of 20, one on balance beam for a total of four, three on floor exercise for a total of 11 and seven all-around wins for a total of 23. Her career highs include scores of 9.975 on vault, 9.950 on bars, 9.925 on beam, 9.950 on floor (four times) and 39.675 all-around.
Korth is an 11 All-American in total and a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient after opening her career as the 2017 SEC Freshman of the Year.
