Maria White, who has close to 10 years of athletic training experience at multiple levels, joined the UGA athletic department in the summer of 2016. She will serve primarily as the women's basketball athletic trainer.
White came to Georgia by way of UAB, where she spent time as the women's basketball athletic trainer and had direct oversight of volleyball, beach volleyball and women's tennis. Among her experiences in Birmingham, White was instrumental in providing care for student-athletes during the Conference USA Basketball Championships, which UAB hosted for two-straight seasons.
The Alabaster, Alabama, native graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's of science degree, before earning her master's degree in health and human performance from McNeese State University in 2012.
White worked at McNeese State from 2012-14, serving as the head women's athletic trainer for the Cowgirls, overseeing all female sports. Her clinical experiences include an internship at Virginia Tech, time as an undergraduate assistant at Holt High School and also at the University of Alabama.
White, a member of the National and Southeastern Athletic Trainer's Association, currently resides in Athens and is proud to call Georgia home.
