Pristina Jones was named the Director of Internal Operations in July 2021.
Jones, a native of Chicago, Ill., arrived in Athens after serving as the Supervisor of Operations for Purdue University’s track and field and cross country program since 2018. In addition to managing a budget of over $1 million, Jones handled travel details, managed on-campus recruiting logistics, served as the meet director for all home events, dealt with the purchase and distribution of apparel and equipment, worked with department administration and the community on COVID protocols and took care of a plethora of other duties for the Boilermakers.
Jones also has a dozen years of coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels. Starting with an assistant coaching job at Jacksonville State University in 2005, Jones then guided Chicago State University’s program as head women’s coach (men’s jumps coach) for nearly three years before serving as an assistant coach at Indianapolis powerhouse Warren Central High School for a pair of seasons. Jones returned to the collegiate coaching ranks from 2011 to 2018 as she was the head women’s coach at Jackson State University (2011-14) and then an assistant at Notre Dame (2014-18).
Jones earned her undergraduate degree from North Central College and has Master’s degrees in Arts (Organizational Leadership) and Business Administration (Applied Management) from Indiana Wesleyan University. She was a 2006 Hall of Fame inductee at North Central and garnered the 2017 Cleo Tanner Award at her alma mater as well.
