    Diving Graduate Assistant
Former Georgia diver Charlie Clifton enters his first season as a graduate assistant, working with diving head coach Chris Colwill.

Clifton competed for the Bulldogs from 2016-18, reaching the NCAA Championships on the 1- and 3-meter springboards in 2017. In 2018, he posted Zone-qualfiying scores on both springboards. At the 2018 SEC Championships, he posted career-best finishes of 16th on the 1-meter and 17th on the 3-meter, while previously finishing 22nd on the platform in 2017.

Prior to Georgia, Clifton, a Nashville, Tenn. native, competed for Ensworth High School under coach Christian Bahr and for Middle Tennessee Diving under coach Tim Jones. While at Ensworth, he earned Tennessee state championships in 2014 and 2016, along with earning All-American honors in all four years.

For Middle Tennessee Diving, Clifton placed sixth on the 1-meter at the 2015 USA Diving Junior Olympic National Championships and won an AAU national championship on the 3-meter in 2014.

Clifton is the son of Peter and Kristy Clifton and a 2020 graduate of Georgia with a degree in Sport Management. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology.
