Heather McCormick
Heather Stepp McCormick, one of the most decorated gymnasts in Georgia history, joined the Georgia Basketball staff as Director of Administration in 2019. McCormick will be responsible for administrative and logistical matters within day-to-day operations, alumni relations and liaison to other Athletic Association departments.

McCormick won the NCAA vault championships in 1992 and 1993 and she claimed the NCAA floor exercise title in 1993. She was chosen as the 1993 Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Year (the first in school history). McCormick also won the 1992 Honda Inspiration Award after overcoming a serious elbow injury.

She was a member of the 1993 national championship squad and helped the 1991, 1992 and 1993 teams claim SEC titles. McCormick was a 9-time All-America and twice earned First-Team All-SEC distinction.

McCormick was inducted into UGA’s Circle of Honor in 2006 and into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.

McCormick earned three degrees from UGA: a bachelor’s in Accounting (1994), a master’s in Sport Management (1996) and a doctorate in Sport Management and Policy (2014).
 
McCormick has served as the Regional Director of Development for UGA since 2012. She held previous roles within the Athletic Association as Career Development Program Consultant and Assistant Director of Development.
