2020-21 Season Highlights:
• Joined the Bulldogs for the final 16 games of the season and made an immediate impact.
• Averaged 13.5 points, 2.8 boards and 1.9 steals per game.
• Among statistical leaders for SEC outings, finished No. 2 in steals (1.9 spg) and No. 18 in scoring (13.6 ppg).
• Recorded 12 double-figure scoring outputs, including a team-high four 20-point performances.
• Following the season opener, Tom Crean announced Johnson “did not play because of NCAA academic certification issues. We are working with our Compliance staff to revisit his status with the NCAA and remain hopeful he will play this season.”
• On Jan. 11, Johnson announced on social media: “Thank you to the NCAA for granting me immediate eligibility and allowing me to play basketball this season. I will not comment on the waiver, but look forward to a great rest of the season with my teammates.”
• Scored 21 points in his collegiate debut against Auburn, the third-most ever by a UGA freshman in his debut trailing only Dominque Wilkins (26) and Anthony Edwards (24).
• Also added seven rebounds, four steals, two assists and two steals versus the Tigers.
• Followed that by scoring 14 points at Ole Miss, including a pair of 3-pointers in a 33-second span that pushed the Bulldogs’ lead from six to 12 with just over four minutes remaining in the game.
• Tabbed Jan. 18 SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 17.5 ppg by shooting 51.9 percent overall and 66.7 percent on 3-pointers versus Auburn and Ole Miss.
• Career-high outputs in back-to-back road games vs. ranked teams, pouring in 22 points at No. 16/15  Tennessee and following that with 24 at No. 11/11 Alabama.
• Collected 16 steals (3.2 spg) in a five-game span from Feb. 6-20 against Vandy, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri and Florida.

High School Highlights:
• Coached by Lee Martin at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., in 2019-20, where he played for the school’s postgraduate team.
• Coached by Eugene Brown, Jr., for three seasons at Southwest DeKalb High School in Decatur, Ga., from 2016-19.
• Rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN, 247Sports.com and rivals.com. Ranked as the nation’s No. 73 overall prospect by ESPN, as well as No. 87 in the 247Sports.com composite and No. 100 by rivals.com.
• Named Georgia’s Class 5A Player of the Year as a junior in 2019 by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
• Selected as the DeKalb County Player of the Year for all classifications by the AJC in 2019.
• Twice tabbed all-state for Class 5A by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, earning first-team honors in 2019 after securing honorable mention status in 2018.
• At Hargrave, averaged 26.2 points, 7.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game.
• Helped the Tigers compile a 37-4 record and reach the Final Four of the National Prep Tournament.
• Greatly improved his 3-point and free throw shooting at Hargrave versus his three seasons at SWD. After connecting on 25.1 percent of his shots behind the arc for the Panthers, knocked down 38.6 percent in his campaign with the Tigers. After shooting 61.7 percent at the line at SWD, converted on 83.2 percent at Hargrave.
• Poured in a season-high 42 points and also posted six assists and five steals against Mt. Zion Prep.
• Named to the all-tournament team at the 2020 HoopHall Classic presented by ESPN, largely due to scoring 35 points – the single-game high for any player in the event – against Orangeville Prep. Loosely flirted with a triple-double in the contest in which he also grabbed nine rebounds and handed out seven assists.
• Over three seasons at Southwest DeKalb, scored 1,302 points (15.5 ppg), grabbed 375 rebounds (4.5 rpg), dished out 318 assists (3.8 apg) and collected 272 steals (3.2 spg). Connected on of 47.1 percent of his shots from the field,
• In 84 games played with the Panthers, posted 62 double-figure scoring outputs, 24 20-point outings, six 30-point outbursts and one 40-point showing.
• Notched five double-double performances for the Panthers, with four of those coming during his final season at SWD.
• Recorded career highs of 41 points (vs. Clarkston as a junior), 12 rebounds (vs. Eagles Landing Christian as a junior), nine assists (vs. Windsor Forest as a sophomore) and nine steals (vs. Mundy’s Mill as a junior).
• As a junior at Southwest DeKalb, averaged 21.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.5 steals per game for the Panthers, who finished 24-7 and reached the semifinals of the Georgia Class 5A State Tournament.
• Connected on 15-of-17 shots from the field, including 5-of-7 3-pointers, en route to his career-best 41 points against Clarkston on Jan. 8, 2019.
• As a sophomore, averaged 17.0 points, 4.7 boards, 4.4 assists and 3.5 steals per game at Southwest DeKalb, which wrapped up the 2017-18 season with an 18-12 record and advanced to the “Sweet 16” round of the 5A state tourney.
• As a freshman, averaged 6.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game for the Panthers, who posted a 17-13 mark and reached the 5A tournament’s “Sweet 16.”
