Adam Ray accepted a role as a Special Teams Analyst for Georgia’s football program in 2023 after serving in a variety of roles at UGA since 2014.
Ray’s time with Georgia began in 2014 as a recruiting student assistant where he worked with the team’s wide receivers. Shortly after in 2015, he took the role of being an offensive student assistant where he specialized in tight ends. Ray then transitioned into an internship position on the offensive side of the ball with the Bulldogs, continuing to work with tight ends. From 2017-2022, Adam became a special teams quality control coach until accepting his current position.
During his time coaching in Athens, the Bulldogs have won two consecutive national championships, four SEC Championships and six SEC Eastern Division titles.
Ray’s individual specialists have also had immense success under his guidance. He coached the 2019 Lou Groza Winner (Rodrigo Blankenship), the 2025 Ray Guy winner and a 2021 Ray Guy finalist (Brett Thorson, Jake Camarda), the 2025 Patrick Mannelly Award winner (Beau Gardner) and two SEC Special Teams Player of the Year recipients (Jack Podlesney - 2022, Camarda - 2020).
Prior to his time at Georgia, Ray coached the wide receivers at his alma mater, Ringgold High School (Ga.), during the 2013 season. The team had its best season during that fall, reaching the GHSA state semifinals with an 11-3 record.
The Ringgold, Ga., native attended the University of Georgia where he graduated in 2016 with his bachelor’s degree in History.
